It was an honor and great pleasure to sail the Northsea Canal aside Greenpeace's action boats to accompany Rainbow Warrior and send her off on her important mission. Bon Voyage!Rainbow Warrior III - Bon Voyage!
Greenpeace Rainbow Warrior 111 is on show in the heart of the city of London at Canary Wharf until Sunday 13 November 2011. The 838 tonne, 60 metre ship berthed at the South Dock after its maiden voyage from Amsterdam. Thousands of visitors have so far visited the ship during its east London stay.

The sail assisted ship is loaded with ground breaking green technology such as the use of intercoolers to extract heat from its engines to heat water and the cabins. The ship has a helicopter landing pad and fully up to date satellite communication systems..
The ship is open to the public on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.

The famous Thai water festival of Loy Krathong will go ahead despite the flooding in many parts of Thailand. The centuries old festival is held on the night of a full moon at the end of the rainy season. Loy Krathong is held to placate Phra Mae Khongkha, the country's goddess of water. Hundreds of thousands of little candlelit boats and rafts are launched in a hope that they carry misfortune and past sins away.
Chinese navy hospital ship Peace Ark berthed in Jamaica on November 1 2011 as part of a global humanitarian mission. The Peace Ark carries more than 100 medical volunteers who provide free surgery, CAT scans, eye care and other procedures. The floating hospital is on a roughly 100-day journey around the Caribbean.

As we learn more about how animals respond to stressful conditions -- whether it's the presence of predators or stresses from other natural or human-caused disruptions -- we increasingly find that stress brings a greater risk of death, presumably from things such as infections that normally wouldn't kill them. What we found was unexpected -- more of the dragonflies died when predators shared their habitat. We allowed the juvenile dragonflies to go through metamorphosis to become adult dragonflies, and found those that had grown up around predators were more likely to fail to complete metamorphosis successfully, more often dying in the process."
